Chocolate egg custard
Ingredients
- Milk 500 ml (16 fl oz / 2 cups)
- Large eggs 4
- Sugar 4 Tbsp
- Cocoa powder 4 Tbsp
This rich and nutritious dish, flavoured with cocoa, is always a favourite with children. Serve as a light snack at any time of the day.
Serves 6–8
Method
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk until ingredients are well mixed.
- Pour mixture into 6–8 ramekins and cover with aluminium foil.
- Place ramekins in a steamer and steam over rapidly boiling water for 20 minutes or until custard is set.
- Remove from heat. If serving hot, serve immediately. If serving cold, leave to cool to room temperature before refrigerating for 30–45 minutes.
